Investments Made Worthy

I have a friend who is now getting all wired up for investments. She has some money with her and is thinking to buy gold bullion. As she doesn't really have a lot, she is just considering the gold bullion coins. Well, good for her, at least she is starting on her way to becoming rich.

For me, I will just to first prioritize my family's needs and in the payment of our debts. There is no use investing if I am already wallowing in debt. So they have to be paid off first as I still have our daily needs to think of. But who knows, maybe someday, in the near future, I too could have my own gold bullion.

A Well Deserved Break

I look at the computer screen for countless hours a day. I think I only take a break when I sleep, go to the bathroom, or to go to the grocery (which is not everyday). I use my computer for more than 8 hours a day, which is the normal office hours of a regular employee.

But sometimes I need to empty my mind. While they say that it is only the men who go into the nothing mode, women have that, too. My nothing mode is to play online games. I have yet to try the online casino because I am not sure which one is legit and which one is not. But I would really like to try gaming so that at least my playing can give me the chance to earn some real money. I do play with online games but sometimes I spend so much time on it and I just get a sore back and arm and tired eyes by the end of the day. I just wish I will not get addicted to online gambling--I just want to try it for the heck of it as I saw a lot of sites that offers free money to play online slot machines and some sites also offer tutorials on how to play blackjack and poker. After all, I guess there is nothing wrong with sampling their offerings. But just a sample, okay? Hehehe...

Pragmatic Garden

Coming home from a trip to Cagayan de Oro, a friend of mine raved about the garden of her friend. The guy just got married but before their wedding, he was able to purchase a house and lot on installment in a middle class neighborhood. The house was two storeys, with a garage, and some space for a garden.

What the guy did to make pragmatic garden out of his small space. He has some outdoor planters that contained different kinds of herbs like basil, mint, tarragon, rosemary, lemongrass and thyme. He also has a few indoor planters that contained some delicate greens. His backyard is planted with some local vegetables and would you believe, he has crabs? Yup, he got some fresh water crabs and released them on the moist soil. That guy is really funny.

He has recently moved into their new house and he related that he will buy a window box planter for his single French window that is overlooking the road. He will be planting flowering shrubs in it so that from time to time, they will wake up to some colorful blooms. He has taken a liking to these decorative planters because they add up to the beautification of his home.

Christmas!!!!!

It seems that the color of Christmas is silver and gold. Why? Because they are glittering! Oh how I love the Christmas season and all its trimmings. Everything seems magical, like in a fairy tale. There is always this child in me that wishes and longs for the magical things of Christmas.

Wow, if I will have the budget, and how I wish I would, I would like to buy gold for myself and my children. Well, I thought of just buying a piece of jewelry for myself, but then again it would also be nice to buy like a pair of cute earrings for my youngest daughter and maybe a bracelet or a necklace for my eldest girl, as she is already becoming a teenager. I wonder how much I should set aside to buy three pieces of gold jewelry? Would $300 be enough?

Hickory Dickory Dock

When I was little, I always loved reciting nursery rhymes. One of the many rhymes that interest me was Hickory Dickory Dock which goes like the one below:

Hickory, dickory, dock,

The mouse ran up the clock.

The clock struck one,

The mouse ran down,

Hickory, dickory, dock.

Now, the question is why? Well, because every time I read this nursery rhyme at any children’s book, it is always illustrated with a grandfather clock. And it made me wonder, why they have these big clocks whereas I haven’t seen one in any house I have been. Then later when I grew up, I saw a Howard Miller grandfather clock at one of the hotels I have been. I admired it so much that I hoped that someday I would own one. So that I would be able to illustrate Hickory Dickory Dock with more smashing effect!!

Anyway, as I continue to travel places, I have seen a lot of grandfather clocks. They all made me remember about Hickory Dickory Dock and also my thoughts of owning one someday. So far, I only owned a few miniature grandfather clocks which I bought as a keychain from one of my business travels.

Hospital Duty

I think that hospital duty can be dreary and boring. I mean, it is exciting with all the adrenaline rush of emergency cases, but other than that, the environment is so clinical and drab. That is why it is a great idea when manufacturers introduced unique scrubs in the market. They provided color, uniqueness, and warmth to the other cold and unattached nursing scrubs.

At the mall one day, I chanced upon those soft cotton scrubs that are very comfortable. In my craziness, I thought of buying a couple of sets and using them as sleepwear. They are so comfortable and when matched with a good pair of shoes, it is a blast to go to work in them everyday.

For those who want to buy in bulk and save money, there are also wholesale nursing uniforms available. I believe that maybe a group of five people who want to buy three sets of uniforms each could get better discounts than if they buy individually.

Working in Scrubs

I wonder, if you are a nurse or in any other medical profession, how many scrubs clothing would you need in order to work for six days a week? I am thinking of having two scrub pants and maybe four scrub tops. I can wear the pants for two days but I think I will have to change my top every day in order for me to be clean and well groomed. So it is like having four sets of uniform for the week. That should give me enough time to wash and iron my work clothes.

If I were a nurse, I will look for a cheap scrub without sacrificing quality. I am pretty sure that there many out there, it is just a matter of where to look for them. I would like to be fashionable on the job and I really appreciate those nicely designed and fashionable nursing scrubs available today. They make a nurse look pretty instead of the usual whites and greens that we always see in the hospital.
