On Credit Cards

Credit cards are a woman’s best friends (sometimes). It can help them keep track of their expenses but occasionally it’s a bigger help in buying the thing they want immediately (LOL!).

Anyway, credit cards has its pros and cons. It you are a savvy financial expert and can control your expenditure, then it is good for you but if you’re the opposite, for the love of life, please don’t own one!

Speaking for credit cards, not all of them are the same. They have different rates and extra features. Some has rebates in a form of cash and some in a form of points where you can exchange with great items, travel packages, discounts and many more. So, if you want to own one, it is best to compare credit cards before applying for one. Make sure you own one that can help you in many ways.

As for me, the best credit cards are those with low interest rates and late payment fees. I believe they are the most flexible ones and are the best to keep!

Women Safety Tips

It was just days before Christmas when reports came in of a woman, a teenage girl and a girl child was raped and killed. They were all victims of monstrous acts of misplaced manhood. It was just sad because they died horribly as the season of joy and happiness should abound.

Anyway, since we can’t prevent people from getting sick or becoming a psycho, women and girls should be vigilant with their safety. They must be aware that harm can be just around the corner no matter what the season will be.

So here are few tips on girl safety:
1. The oldest one of them all is “Don’t talk to strangers.” Even if they say that they knew your parents or your siblings don’t trust them immediately.
2. Never walk in dark places. Avoid passing through dark alleys especially when you are alone.
3. If it’s avoidable that you should work or go out during the night, always bring pepper spray that you can get easily if someone attacks.
4. Learn self-defense techniques such as karate or just learn to run fast!
5. Never wear sexy dresses on dark places that could attract people with bad intentions.
6. Always pray for safety and protection.

These are simple tips. If you have other suggestion, just comment below.

Another Sumptuous Dinner

I went to Pepe’s Restaurant again last night. The restaurant where I had a girls night out. I treated my father and husband to a sumptuous meal. I ordered Beef Salpicao again while my dad had Grilled Baracuda and my hubby Grilled Tangigue. Both of them ordered premium fish dishes because they are avoiding cholesterol rich pork and beef. I am trying to avoid too but it’s hard to say no to my favorites.

Anyway, I wasn’t able to get photos of us. I left my digital camera at home.

Needing a Wireless Router

My husband and I are avid internet users and so as our two school-aged children. Aside from my work, hubby uses the internet for entertainment purposes such as viewing music videos or movie trailers at YouTube. My children on the other hand use the internet to play online flash games, search for song lyrics or school projects.

Because the whole family is into the life online, I have decided to buy a wireless router next year after we buy a laptop or additional personal computer. I am thinking between D-Link routers or Linksys routers. These brands are just one of the leading manufacturers of wireless routers. Anyway, I like D-Link’s RangeBooster N or Linksys Wireless-N. I think these two can get me a high performance wireless network which I really need for my work online.

D-Link’s RangeBooster ND-Link’s RangeBooster N

Linksys Wireless-NLinksys Wireless-N

Anyway, I only need a wireless router enough to accommodate a personal home network here in our house; enough to accommodate the mom, the dad and one computer for the two children.

Virus Attacks

When December 2009 came, I have been experiencing computer virus attacks. I don’t know where I got it but I am sure that one of the downloaded files my husband caused it. I tried to restore my computer several times but still I am getting those virus alerts.

One of my friends online told me to install a personal firewall since having an antivirus is not enough. She said an antivirus and a personal firewall software is needed to get the best computer protection. So I heeded her advice and installed a personal firewall software since I have an antivirus already (which I thought is very reliable).

After I installed the personal firewall software, I experienced several days of virus alert free computing then it came back. I always get this Trojan alerts that are found in several svchost.exe in my Temp folder. I don’t know if this is a valid file or not but as I searched Google, it said that a Windows program needed several svchost.exe to run several of its programs. So, shall I delete it or not? That is the mind bugling question I have.

Anyway, I am planning to have a computer repair as an option. I have no choice but to bring in my CPU to a computer doctor to have it repaired. I think I needed more than a software to get rid of it. Maybe I need a computer reformatting to make sure all the viruses are dead! Aside from that, I think my personal computer needs some pampering. It’s been serving me almost 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. So I guess it needs a general computer repair and pampering for it to function properly. It’s hard to lose a computer for a few days because of my work online, but it’s hard to lose my computer permanently since my bread and butter is found online.

So, what do you think? Should I get more than these software and get my PC some repair and pampering?

Busy with My Father

When my father arrived last Sunday, we went to the mall immediately to watch Avatar the movie. When Monday came, we didn’t go anywhere. Then Tuesday, we went to another mall to buy him a new cellphone and bought groceries. Then today, Wednesday, we went to the mall where we watched a movie to buy some plastic drawers, children hangers, and his new wallet.

Since my father arrived, I lived more life offline than online and most of it…out of the house. I guess I will be like this until he is here. ^_^

A Woman's Tastes in Cars

Cars and women always go together. It’s like bread and butter or fresh milk and cereal. Anyway, I am not talking about women, food or their analogy in life but I will be talking about this woman’s taste in cars!

Yup, I will show you several pictures of cars that I really would want to own someday! But be careful, my tastes are not the same as any other woman. I like cars that are tough!

So start with, I will first introduce to you the 2010 Chevy Silverado. It’s known to have a clas-leading mileage, a seemingly endless configurations, workhorse (even in high-end trim), smooth ride and crisp handling and big payload and towing numbers! As I always say, good for both family and business use!

Second is the 2010 Acura MDX. This car is known to be impressively strong, nimble handler, subdued but mostly handsome styling, safety record and reputation for durability!

And the last but not the least, the 2010 Jeep Wrangler! This car is so cool looking and has great features inside! It has comfortable seats, GPRS and good sound system.

Actually, these are some of the few cars that I like, I have more in mind. But if I post them all, I guess this will be a long and almost endless post! So, how about you? Do you have dream cars too?

Girls Night Out

Last Wednesday, my fellow girl bloggers and I went to Pepe's Restaurant to have a sumptuous dinner. It was a night of catching up and just hanging out. We talked about many girl things, social networking online and even politics (yup, intelligent girls talk about it too). It was a great night and I am looking forward for another round.

Anyway, the food photos above are the ones I ordered, Beef Salpicao with Rice and Caesar's Salad. I took it all in with bottomless ice tea. No wonder I am gaining weight! LOL!

Love Installation

A step by step guide to installing love on the human machine.

Customer: I can do that. I'm not very technical, but I think I am ready to install now. What do I do first?

Tech Support: The first step is to open your HEART. Have you located your HEART ma'am?

Customer: Yes I have, but there are several programs running right now. Is it okay to install while they are running?

Tech Support: What programs are running ma'am?

Customer: Let me see... I have PASTHURT.EXE, LOWESTEEM.EXE, GRUDGE.EXE, and RESENTMENT.COM running right now.

Tech Support: No problem. LOVE will automatically erase PASTHURT.EXE from your current operating system. It may remain in your permanent memory, but it will no longer disrupt other programs. LOVE will eventually overwrite LOWESTEEM.EXE with a module of its own called HIGHESTEEM.EXE However, you have to completely turn off GRUDGE.EXE and RESENTMENT.COM. Those programs prevent LOVE from being properly installed. Can you turn those off ma'am?

Customer: I don't know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?

Tech Support: My pleasure. Go to your Start menu and invoke FORGIVENESS.EXE. Do this as many times as necessary until GRUDGE.EXE and RESENTMENT.COM have been completely erased.

Customer: Okay, I'm done. LOVE has started installing itself automatically. Is that normal?

Tech Support: Yes it is. You should receive a message that says it will reinstall for the life of your HEART. Do you see that message?

Customer: Yes I do. Is it completely installed?

Tech Support: Yes, but remember that you have only the base program. You need to begin connecting to other HEARTS in order to get the upgrades.

Customer: Oops...I have an error message already. What should I do?

Tech Support: What does the message say?

Customer: It says "ERROR 412 - PROGRAM NOT RUN ON INTERNAL COMPONENTS". What does that mean?

Tech Support: Don't worry ma'am, that's a common problem. It means that the LOVE program is set up to run on external HEARTS but has not yet been run on your HEART. It is one of those complicated programming things, but in non-technical terms it means - "you have to 'LOVE' your own machine before it can "LOVE" others."

Customer: So what should I do?

Tech Support: Can you find the directory called "SELF-ACCEPTANCE"?

Customer: Yes, I have it.

Tech Support: Excellent, you are getting good at this.

Customer: Thank you.

Tech Support : You're welcome. Click on the following files and then copy them to the "MYHEART" directory: FORGIVESELF.DOC, SELFESTEEM.TXT, REALIZEWORTH.TXT, and GOODNESS.DOC. The system will overwrite any conflicting files and begin patching any faulty programming. Also, you need to delete SELFCRITIC.EXE from all directories, and then empty your recycle bin afterwards to make sure it is completely gone and never comes back.

Customer: Got it. Hey! My HEART is filling up with really neat files. SMILE.MPG is playing on my monitor right now and it shows that WARMTH.COM, PEACE.EXE, and CONTENTMENT.COM are copying themselves all over my HEART!

Tech Support: Then LOVE is installed and running. You should be able to handle it from here. One more thing before I go

Customer: Yes?

Tech Support: LOVE is freeware. Be sure to give it and its various modules to everybody you meet. They will in turn share it with other people and they will return some really neat modules back to you.

Customer: I will. Thank you for your help.

More on Pearls

I just posted about pearls a few days ago. And guess what? I will be talking more about pearls. Why? Because just recently, I saw this beautiful discount pearl necklace. The design is so elegant! Don't you agree?

Getting a Beauty Salon Treatment

Every woman deserves to have herself treated in a beauty salon. We deserve to be pampered, not necessarily every day, but as much as we can afford it. I myself started visiting a local beauty salon here in our place every month just to reward myself for all the hard work I have done.

The salon I am visiting is not as beautiful as beauty salon Avondale but just enough to get my monthly hair spa done. Aside from that the staff that always take cares of my hair is very accommodating just like those from a beauty salon Goodyear.

There are some beauty salons in the US that caters specialty such as the black hair salon in phoenix. They can do all those hair dos you want like braided and locks, this of course is on top of the regular hair cutting and treatment.

Anyway, it doesn’t matter where you get your hair done. What matters most is that you get a beauty salon treatment once in awhile to give yourself a boost of self esteem. Not only women but even men also need one.

How about you? Do you go to a beauty salon once in awhile? Do you have a regular schedule?

Miscellaneous Ramblings on Homeschooling

As a mom I want the best for my children. I want them to have the best of what life has to offer especially when it comes to education and values. That is the reason why I am contemplating of getting my children into homeschooling. I believe homeschooling can help children develop proper values while learning the facts.

I am looking for establishments here in our place that could provide me some homeschooling curriculum and can help my children get accreditation in our education department. I know there is a place in Manila but not here in Bacolod. I am also looking for support groups that can guide me on how to do homeschooling properly and successfully.

And because I wanted to learn more about homeschooling my children successfully, I opted to search for homeschooling curriculum online. I wish to see what the lessons that are being taught by parents to their children according to credited resources.

Anyway, I have three children. Two school aged children while the youngest is still a baby. If I do homeschooling, that would pose a great challenge to my skills as a mom and teacher as one. Can I do it? Will the children like it? Well, time will tell!

Hubby Goes to Manila and CDO

Hubby will leave for Manila tomorrow. He will be there until Friday then will go to Cagayan de Oro. He will arrive here on Sunday late afternoon or evening. That means he will be away from us for almost five days. I will surely miss him. Aside from that, I could not sleep thinking that he will be going to Cagayan de Oro, our hometown that I dread because of bad memories. Sigh…

Anyway, I am aiming to think of good and positive vibes especially he just told me he loves me and nothing to worry. OK, I said. So think positive!

I Heart Pearls

Just like what I have said before, I am not a vain person but I have an eye for fashionable clothes and beautiful jewelry. I always dig for affordable ones so that I can always look good without destroying my family’s budget.

Speaking about jewelries, I love wearing silver and pearls. I believe that these two emphasizes stunning simplicity and elegance. When worn, you don’t have to worry if they match your clothes or not. They are perfect in all sorts of clothes!

Anyway, just the other day, I bought a complete set of affordable silvery jewelries. Now, I wanted to buy a set of pearls as my next project from my income. So I opted to search online just to canvass on the design as well as the prize.

In my search, luckily, I found www.purepearls.com. They have many astonishing pieces with such majestic designs. Aside from that, they have pearly jewelries that have prices ranging from $100 to $1000. And the best of all, they have pearls under $100!

As I browsed the site, I saw this beautiful set of akoya pearls. They looked simple but so elegant. It reminded me of my first set of pearl jewelry that was given to me. I have two sets of pearl jewelry that has creamy white colors.

Since I already have creamy white pearls, I got my eyes fixed on the Tahitian pearls they have at the store. Tahitian pearls carries a classic and timeless silvery grayish color, I felt so attracted to it. Check the picture below:

Anyway, I am still undecided what to buy as the store boasts many varieties of pearls such as Akoya, Tahitian, Freshwater and South Sea pearls and all of these come in many different settings. They also have cultured and wild collected pearls that simply amaze me.

By the way, if you are looking for pearls too, I suggest you check out their site. I am sure you will find something you will dearly like there too!

Movies I Watched Last November

A few days ago, I posted about the movies I watched on BIG SCREEN ONLY last November. So now, I will post some 2009 movies that I watched at home in the past few weeks. Not in any particular order.

Jennifer’s Body
This movie is nothing different from normal horror movies. But because Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried starred this movie, it was worth our time.

ZombieLand
This made me laugh. I expected a horror movie but it turned out to be a comedy.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
This animated movie is really nice. I enjoyed this with my children.

Funny People
Adam Sandler cursed too much in this movie and I don’t really like her character. Not good for children.

Gamer
Awesome! I love the story line and so as the actor – Gerard Butler!

The Law Abiding Citizen
Of course, I love Gerard Butler and how he acts. He is handsome and great in this movie. The story line is unique!

Ninja Assassin is a good movie for those who love action. I do love action flicks but this one made cover my eyes. The movie's brutality and explicit display of sliced flesh makes me want to puke. But thank God I didn't!

Planning on a Back Pain Treatment & More

For the past few days, my movements have become so limited. Why? Well, I am suffering from joint pains both at upper and lower limbs. The pain made me ache whenever I move. Not only that but I also suffer from neck pain and back pain. With me being in pain, I tend to rest a bit from my online and offline activity.

Since I haven’t been to a doctor, my family has their own theories what might have caused this. Some of them believe that it is an outcome of my diet. I ate too much pork that it might cause me arthritis. Some thinks I lack physical exercise. I always set in front of my computer because that is where I work so it causing me these pains. Some thinks it has something to do with my UTI, somewhat a complication. God forbid! Anyway, whatever the cause is, I am sure that the pain I am feeling is real.

On my next payday, I am planning to a medical check up, back pain treatment, and more! I need to know the cause and the name of the pain I am suffering. Aside from that, I think I need to ask the doctor where I need to buy a neck pain pillow to help soothe my problem. The pillow I have at home is not helping me. I think I should be given the right orthopedic pillow to help lessen the pain and maybe improve my condition. And I need a constructive advice on what food to avoid. It’s hard to avoid eating the pork since I love eating veggies with meat!

Since its Christmas season, I think I will have my “plan” commence next year. I have to prioritize some Christmas agenda as of the moment. Don’t want to break my children’s holiday cheer, right?
